Steve Wayne Clay, 75, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 19, 1950, Steve was the son of the late Frank G. Clay and Ruby Tacker Clay. He dedicated many years of service to Farm Bureau Insurance before retiring. Steve was a faithful member of Marked Tree Church of God and was known for his love of family, friends, and the simple joys of life.

Steve enjoyed playing golf, watching westerns, spending time with his beloved dog, Abraham, cheering on the Arkansas State Women's Basketball team, and attending sporting events to watch his grandsons play and coach. He also cherished trips to the river with his insurance buddies and treasured every opportunity to spend time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Regina Clay, who passed away in 2024; his parents, Frank G. and Ruby Tacker Clay; three brothers, Frankie Clay, Clayton Clay, and James Clay; and two sisters, Ginny May and Susan Clay.

Those left to cherish his memory include his two daughters, Mitzi Malone (Paul) of Lepanto and Stephanie Lunsford (David) of Brookland; one sister, Mary Dunlap (Eddie) of Queen Creek, Arizona; four grandchildren, Kent Gray (Elizabeth) of Memphis, Clay Malone (Hannah) of Jonesboro, Hayden Malone (Misty) of Trumann, and James Davis (Madison) of Indianapolis; three bonus grandchildren, Jacob Lunsford (Morgan) of Fayetteville, Jenna Myers (Darryl) of Sheridan, and Jordan Lunsford (Dylan) of Jonesboro; two great-grandchildren, Baylor Malone and Heidi Malone; one bonus great-granddaughter, Harper; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 12, 2026, at Marked Tree Church of God beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the NEA Humane Society or the Arkansas State Women's Basketball Association in Steve's memory.
