Stephen Wayne Hill

Stephen Wayne Hill, 50, of Jonesboro, died Monday afternoon at St. Bernards Medical Center. He had lived most of his life in Jonesboro and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leachville. Stephen had worked at International Paper and had attended ASU, receiving a degree in art. He was a cartoonist and had had works published in Good Humor Magazine and Easy Rider Magazine.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Russell Hill and his step-father who raised him, Burnis Hughes.

He is survived by his mother, Wanda Hughes, Jonesboro; his daughter, Stephanie Hill, Leachville; his brother, Gary Hughes, Paragould; and his sisters, Donna Parks, Alicia, and Sue Presley, Jonesboro.

Stephen’s body will be cremated with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation. Burial will be private with Butch Parks officiating.
