Mr. Stephen “Steve” Eldon Clark, 66, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, May 23, 2022, at NEA Baptist Hospital. He was born August 13, 1955 in Jonesboro and a 1973 graduate of Jonesboro High School.
Steve was a member of First NEA Assembly of God and the Jonesboro Gideons. Steve could always be found wherever there was water. He enjoyed traveling to see waterfalls, fishing, and vacationing to the beach. He loved watching Arkansas State Red Wolves football, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers especially Tom Brady. Steve was a Master Plumber and the former owner of Clark Plumbing & Heating. He then worked as an Estimator/Project Manager for Action Inc in Maumelle, AR and a Project Manager for MCC Mechanical in Memphis, TN where he traveled to OK, TN, NC and FL securing and completing multi-million dollar new construction projects.
He is preceded in death by his father William E. Clark; one sister, Jill Clark Bassi Peace; and one daughter, Jennifer Clark Cox.
Steve is survived by his wife of 18 years Karen Gardner Hill Clark of the home; his mother, Naomi Ruth Clark of Jonesboro; one step-son, Derek Hill of Crossett, Arkansas; two step-daughters, Brandy and Tim Aaron of Redfield, Arkansas, Jennifer and Andy Johnson of Crossett, Arkansas; one son-in-law, Clint Cox of Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Kathy and Stan McPike of Jonesboro, Robin and James Hunter of Jonesboro; one granddaughter, Maggie and Garrett Barnes of Jonesboro; 10 other grandchildren; one great- grandson, Tate Barnes of Jonesboro; 3 other great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit at Emerson Memorial Chapel, Thursday, May 26, 2022, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Trey Rose and Brother Josh Taylor. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Derek Hill, Andy Johnson, Tim Aaron, Garrett Barnes, Derek McPike, Adam McPike, John McPike, and Clint Cox. Honorary pallbearers will include the Jonesboro High School Class of 1973.
