Stephen Robert Ralston

September 15, 1950 — July 21, 2011

Stephen Robert Ralston, 60, of Jonesboro entered into eternal rest on Thursday July 21, 2011, at NEA Baptist Hospital.

Stephen was born in Dayton, Ohio to the late Robert and Doris Ralston. He was in the United States Air Force, and was an Air Traffic Controller before retiring from the FAA. He moved to Jonesboro in 1980, where he and his wife, Marie, raised their two children, Cindy and Scott. He loved being with his family, and was an active member of Walnut Street Baptist Church.

Stephen was preceded in death by his Parents, Robert and Doris Ralston.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Ralston of the home; a daughter, Cindy Chadwick and her husband, Chad of Jonesboro; a son, Scott Ralston and wife, Lorri of Jonesboro; one brother, Jim Ralston of Lawrenceville, Georgia; a sister, Linda Ralston of Warner Robins, Georgia; six grandchildren, Emily Ralston, Cole Chadwick, Brett and Jerisa Gann, Tracy Carpenter, Taylor Isom; three great-grandchildren, Evyn Roedel, Emma Roedel, Laynee Gann, and many other loved ones and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Brett Gann, Tracy Carpenter, Taylor Isom, Christopher Norris, Justin Norris, Kyle Floyd, and Caleb Floyd.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Hatley’s Sunday School Class, Co-workers from the Jonesboro Flight Service Station.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Dr. Glen Putman and Bro. Jerry Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 5-7 at Emerson Funeral Home.
