Stella Kay Harris

Stella Kay Harris, 71, of Lake City, passed from this life January 18, 2021 at St Bernard’s Medical Center. She was born in St. Louis on January 6, 1950 to the late Raymon and Kate Bishop Hall. She is preceded in death by her husband William Henry Harris; brothers Pete Stroud, Wamon Hall, Bobby Hall, and her twin, Shelby Ray Hall; and sisters Pauline Russell, Jean Hall, Mildred Grimes, and Joyce Goforth.

Stella spent over 60 years living in NEA. She was a member of The Pentecostals of Lake City and also attended the First Pentecostal Church of Lepanto and First United Pentecostal Church of Bono. She was a children’s church director, she taught Sunday school, and lately she was the ladies director. Working with her church members, she raised money for Mothers Memorial through different fund raisers, especially with baking pies and cakes. Before she retired, she was a Certified Dietary Manager with Lawrence Memorial Hospital and Lawrence Hall Nursing Center. Stella was very proud of her job. Over the 35 years she worked, she was responsible for over 10 million meals being served.

Stella is survived by her daughters, Amanda Neely (Jonathan) of Lepanto and Angelia McCall (Tony) of Lake City; and her grandchildren, Rocklan, Harrison, Lydia, Britton, and Heidi.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 6-8 pm at Emerson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be the following day at 10 am. Burial will be at Noble Cemetery.

A facemask must be worn while at the visitation and service.
