Stanley Walker

April 14, 1960 — February 12, 2013

Stanley Walker, 52, of Tulot, died Tuesday of natural causes at his home.

Born in Gideon, Missouri, Stanley lived much of his life in the Trumann area. He was a 1978 graduate of Trumann High School and formerly worked for Firestone in Memphis. He operated Walker Drywall for several years before becoming disabled.

Stanley was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Tulot and enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur J. Walker in 1993, his mother Wilma Simmons Walker in 2012, and his brothers Albert DeWayne Walker in 1991 and James Leslie Walker in 1993.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Sondra “Cindy” Shempert Walker of the home;

3 sons and their wives, Ryan and Dena Walker of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Jeffrey and Ashley Walker, and Albert DeWayne “Wayne” Walker, all of Trumann;

2 brothers and their wives, Dennis and Loc Walker of Catoosa, Oklahoma, and Larry and Debra Walker of Tulsa, Oklahoma;

2 sisters and their husbands, Linda and Michael Smith of Marion, and Sandra and Hal Stewart of Trumann; and

3 grandchildren: Zackery Walker, Camille “Cami” Walker and Kayla Walker.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Larry Walker and Miki Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers include Wayne Walker, Ryan Walker, Jeff Walker, Mike Smith, Kenny York and David Williams. Honorary pallbearers include Matt Walker, Michael Smith, Jason Stewart, Stephen Walker, Chris Walker, Shannon Walker, Jamie Walker and Matt York.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00-8:00 at Emerson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that consideration be given to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
