Sonny Herndon, 72, of Jonesboro died Monday February 13, 2012 at his home with family at his side.
Sonny was born May 25, 1939 in Lake City, and has lived most of his life in the Jonesboro area. He was owner and operator of Wholesale Feed & Tack, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to help those in need, and enjoyed joking around with everybody. He was preceded in death by his parents Birktram and Carrie Herndon.
He leaves behind a wife, Gail of the home; three children, Rick Herndon and his wife Carmelita, Kathy Hassen and husband Mike of Lake Forrest, California, and Regina Herndon of Lake Forrest, California; a brother, Johnny Rickman; and two sisters Bonnie Culbert and Bonnie Jean Gregg; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor George Ezel officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Barry Ragsdale, Donnie Scott, Jerry Melton, William Brown, Joe Guthrie, Gaylon Massengill, Roger Coy, Joe Isabell.
