Sondra Lynn Carter, 51, of Jonesboro, passed away on May 26, 2024. She was born on August 1, 1972, in St. Louis, Illinois, to the late Jimmy and Sandra Koller Crain. Sondra spent most of her life in Jonesboro with a brief period in St. Louis and was of the Christian faith.

Sondra was a dedicated Registered Nurse for about 15 years, working for several years at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. She had a deep love for her dogs, Cash, Rayder and Bentley. She was an avid concert goer and lover of the beach and ocean.

Sondra cherished her two sons, Jacob and Nick, more than anything and also held their friends dear to her heart. She had a special place in her heart for her nieces, nephews, and her entire family. She was an amazing mother and a devoted wife. She was preceded in death by her parents. Sondra is survived by her husband of 30 years, William Carter of the home; her two sons, Jacob Carter of Nashville and Nick Carter of Jonesboro; one brother, Gary Crain, and his wife Jennifer of Jonesboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12 to 2 pm on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Emerson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Emerson Funeral Home, with Pastor Jonathon Martin officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Chedister, Kenneth Caubble, Cameron Haring, Keegan Boyd, Joseph Inman, Ryan Miller, Zach Hobbs, Ajay Singh, and Brooks Holmes.
