SISTER CORDIS KIM, O.S.B.
Sister Cordis Kim, age 80, died at 4:55 p.m. on January 23, 2014, in Holy Angels Convent Infirmary. She was born on January 2, 1934, in Seoul, Korea to Joseph and Maria Kim. She was the first child of three (two girls and one boy).
Surviving her is one sister, Clara Kehm (Ontario, Canada), and one brother, Joseph Kim (Seoul, Korea). She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Michael, Yvonne, Benedicta, John, Patrice, and David; great nieces and nephews, Alexander, Amanda, Matthew, Nicole, and Caitlin.
Sister Cordis attended school in Korea and entered Holy Angels in 1979. After canonically transferring her vows, she was assigned to Saint Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas, as an LPN, and then to Pastoral Care Department in the same hospital, where she worked
until retirement. After retirement, she lived in the Infirmary until the time of her death.
She enjoyed reading, listening to spiritual tapes, needlework, making beautiful cards and candles, and watching flowers grow. She made her Profession of Vows in 1962 and Final Vows in 1977, and transferred her vows to Holy Angels in 1980. She celebrated her Silver Jubilee in 1987 and her Golden Jubilee in 2012.
Visitation and Rosary will be held at Holy Angels Convent Sunday, January 26 at 7:00 pm; Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 27 at 10:30 am in Holy Angels Convent Chapel with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery at Holy Angels Convent.
Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus of Blessed Sacrament Parish under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home.
