Sister Beatrice Schneider, O.S.B.

Sister Beatrice Schneider, O.S.B., age 76, died at St. Bernards Medical Center on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 10:20 a.m.

She was born in Jonesboro on February 26, 1931 to Lawrence & Eva (Frangenberg) Schneider. She was the eldest of eleven children having four (4) brothers and six (6) sisters. Surviving her are brothers, Lawrence, Paul & Herman Schneider, of Jonesboro, Albert Schneider, Little Rock; sisters, Mary Ritter & Sister Eileen Schneider, Jonesboro, Jo Schneider & Virginia Roy, Little Rock, Teresa Burnside, Hopkinsville, KY, and Ruth Giddens, Oklahoma City, OK.

Sister Beatrice entered Holy Angels Convent in 1950 after attending Holy Angels Academy. She made her Profession of Vows in 1952, her Silver Jubilee in 1977, and her Golden Jubilee in 2002.

She spent six (6) years as a teacher in elementary schools, leave of absence due to illness 3 ½ years, purchasing agent for St. Bernards Medical Center for nine (9) years, Board Secretary and Secretary for the Administrator for St. Bernards plus Convent Secretary/Archivist for Holy Angels Convent for thirty (30) years and in retirement for ten (10) years.

Visitation will be held at Holy Angels Convent on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 6:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Angels Chapel with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus of Blessed Sacrament Parish. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
