Shirley Jean Smith

Shirley Jean Smith, 73, of Jonesboro passed on to her next life with Jesus Monday, November 2, 2015 at Craighead Nursing Center. Shirley was a lifelong resident of Jonesboro with her devoted husband of 53 years, Bob Smith. After a 30 year career as a dental assistant for 4 dentists in Jonesboro, she had retired to spend time with her family. Shirley enjoyed Dr. Peppers, Hershey’s Kisses, watching the Hallmark Channel and reading her Bible. Her church family at Windover Baptist Church gave her much joy and peace as she and Bob worshiped God there.

Shirley is survived by her husband Bob Smith, daughter and son-in-law Tony and Tammy Fowler, grandson Jack Fowler, all of Jonesboro; sisters, Beth Dunkerson, Patty Dunkerson and Judy Nix and her husband Gerald.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Emerson Funeral Home with Dr. Win Bridges officiating. The burial will be private.

The visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
