Shirley Rue

January 12, 1946 — April 19, 2013

Shirley Rue, 67, of Jonesboro passed away Friday April 19, at the NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born in Jonesboro on January 12, 1946 to Cecil and Opal Eggers Hunt. Shirley has been a member of the Nettleton Church of Christ since she was a small child. She worked for the Northeast Arkansas Area on Aging in Jonesboro for 23 years. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a sister; Norma Hunt and a niece; Angela Bateman.

When able Shirley loved spending time with her family, going fishing, hunting, working in her yard and the St. Louis Cardinals. She was a huge fan and rarely missed watching a game. Shirley enjoyed the things in her life and was a very loveable person, who never met a stranger. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

Survived by her daughters; Sherry St.Cin and Sheila Nunez both of Jonesboro.

Sons; Charles (Charlie) Rue of Paragould and Roger Rue and wife Misty of Jonesboro.

Her lifelong companion; Debbie Martin of Jonesboro.

Brother; Leroy Hunt and wife Irene of Rockford, Illinois.

Sister; Bobbie Buskohl of Rockford, Illinois.

11 grandchildren; LeAnn Clayton, Brandon Box, Daryel Simmons Jr., Greg Simmons, Chantel Simmons, Latasha Simmons, Tiffaney Ivy, Charles Matthew Rue, Kyle Ivy, Courtney Vandyke and Bobby Howard.

18 great grandchildren.

Nieces and nephews include, Pamala Johnson, Paula Hunt, Junior Hunt, Steve Hunt, Leroy Hunt Jr. and April Estrada.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday April 23, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jimmy Young officiating. Burial will be at Nettleton Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Active pallbearers will be Brandon Box, Daryel Simmons, Greg Simmons, Jackie West, William Clayton and Matt Hall.

Honorary pallbearers will be Harrold McGinnis and Wayne McGinnis.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. Monday April 22, at Emerson Funeral Home.
