Shirley Ann Reed

Shirley Ann Reed, 78 of Jonesboro passed from this life Friday, August 27, 2021 at St. Bernards Medical Center.  She was born in East Prairie, Missouri to Thomas and Lorene Dean Robertson, April 14, 1943.  She worked at Parker Hannifin in Trumann as a machine operator.  Shirley attended Temple Baptist Church.  She loved her pets, Leroy the dog and Abby the cat.  Shirley was an avid reader.  She also enjoyed the outside and kept check on her flowers.  She also enjoyed her coffee in the mornings.  Shirley is preceded by her parents, step father, Freeman Massey; first husband, Jerome Reed; second husband, Hobert  Dale “Bud” Smith.

Survivors include sisters; Diane Henry (Rick) of Manila and Vivie Veach (Robert) also of Manila; step brother, Cleo Massey of Blytheville; sisters in law, Jane McAnally of Jonesboro and Marsha Summerford of Jonesboro; brother in law, Barry Reed of Lake City; 13 nieces and nephews, 20 great nieces and nephews and several special cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, August 30, 2021 from 10-11 am at Emerson Funeral Home.  Graveside service will follow at 11:30 am at Pine Log Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Robert Veach, Hunter Veach, Ronny Russell, D.A. Davis, Tom Henry, Hunter Russell and Van Thompson.
