Shirley Jean Hicks

Shirley Jean Hicks, 52, of Jonesboro, died Friday afternoon at NEA Medical Center. She was a member of the Valley Ridge Baptist Church and was active in the W.M.U. and the Ladies Bible Study. She had worked as the assistant manager at Walgreen’s.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ray “Pete” Gambill.

She is survived by her husband, Ershel Hicks, Jonesboro; her sons, Danny Hicks, Jonesboro; Richard Hicks, Brookland; her daughter, Angela Hicks, Jonesboro; her mother, Thelma Gambill; and her sister, Donna House, Cabot.

A graveside service will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Floyd officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Bob Walton, Louis Ralph, Richard Kovaleski, David Kovaleski, Steve Buazard, and Dennis Lamberth.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
