Shirley Diane Harvey, 70 of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023. She was born July 17, 1952, to the late Albert and Geraldine Howanietz in Benton, Arkansas. She was formerly a resident of Central Arkansas and leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories.
Shirley was devoted to taking care of those around her. She served as the Administrator of several nursing homes across Arkansas before retiring in 2018.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro, where she found solace in her faith and formed lasting connections with her church community.
In her leisure time, she cultivated a beautiful garden, where vibrant blooms thrived under her care. She loved to be outside, whether she was fishing or enjoying sitting on the patio. She never missed game time to cheer on the Arkansas Razorbacks and over the years accumulated an extensive bell collection.
However, Shirley's greatest joy in life came from spending time with her beloved grandkids and great-grandkids. Their laughter, hugs, and shared moments filled her heart with immeasurable happiness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stevin Harvey, her father, Albert, her mother, Geraldine, and her brother, Johnny Howanietz. She is survived by her sisters, Kathy and Patricia Howanietz.
She is also survived by her son, Shawn Harvey, two cherished granddaughters, Heather Harvey and Allison Chism, two grandson-in-laws, Adam Ray and Trey Chism, and two greatgrandchildren, Caroline and Max Chism.
