Shirley Carol Story

Shirley Carol Story, 62, of Brookland, Arkansas, died Saturday evening at St Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Born in Jonesboro on July 14, 1943 to Kermit and Laneal Snow Langston, Shirley moved to Brookland in 1960 and married Richard Story on April 9, 1961. She worked several years for Brookland Schools and was a member of Woodsprings Baptist Church.

Shirley was a Humanitarian and volunteered in Leukemia Awareness Programs and Cancer Survivor Assistance. She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

Her Husband: Richard Story of the home;

1 Daughter: Rita Jones of Brookland;

2 Sons: Randy Story of West Plain, Missouri, and Rick Story of Jonesboro;

2 Sisters: Betty Wagoner of Walcott, and Anita Arnold of Jonesboro;

4 Grandchildren: Anthony Story, Amber Story, Bowen Jones, and Trevor Jones.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with James A. Short officiating. Burial will follow in Pierce Cemetery.

Nephews will serve as active pallbearers. Dr. Sanders McKee will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5-8 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
