Shirlene Miller, 83, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Cornerstone Hospice House in Lake Tavares, Florida.
Shirlene was born August 14, 1927, in Walcott to the late Shirley and Mollie Wince. She was a retired school teacher with 40 years of service and was a member of the Villages Church of Christ in Florida. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Paul Wince and Wilburn Wince and four sisters, Ruth Williams, Bernice Bryson, Bessie Blanton and Geraldine Parker.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Maurice Miller of the home, one brother, Mack Wince, one sister, Darlene Phillips and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jimmy Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Walcott.
Pallbearers include Andy Bryson, Jack Bishop, Holmes Phillips, J.C. Moses, Donald Barker and Brad Shumpert.
There will be no visitation.
For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to the Hospice Program of the donor’s choice.
