Sherry Womack

Sherry Womack, 74, left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior on June 5, 2025.  She was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 25, 1951, to Ezra and Wanda Metz.  She had lived in Jonesboro for the past 40 years.  Sherry was a member of the Refuge Assembly of God Church, 1404 Stone Street here in Jonesboro.  She graduated with a master’s degree in education and retired as a public-school teacher after 38 years.  She and her husband Bill worked diligently in the food Ministry at their church.  Her favorite pastime was spoiling her grandkids.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Bill Womack of the home; son, Chad Womack and wife Jennifer of Maumelle, Arkansas; daughter, Erica Smith and husband Matt of Jonesboro; brothers, Gary Metz and Mark Metz, both of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Cade, Collin and Brianna.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Emerson Memorial Chapel at 10:00 Monday, June 9, 2025, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Reverend Matt Smith officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  The burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are the Womack’s Grow Group at Refuge Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be from 9:00 until service time.
