Sherma Kaye “Sissy” Rudkin, 69, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at NEA Hospital. She was born July 6, 1953 in Kennett, MO. Sherma attended grade school at Rainshaven Elementary School in Memphis, Tennessee before moving to Jonesboro and graduating from Jonesboro High School in 1971. Her profession was bookkeeper/secretary while living in Dallas then settling in North Little Rock before returning to Jonesboro. In her younger years, Sherma developed a love of horses. As an adult she enjoyed watching stock car racing, reading books, playing games on the computer and connecting with family and friends via social media and in person.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sherman and Bama Morgan and Carl and Gertie Rudkin; aunts, Mary Cox, Esther McClanahan, and Carlene Henegar and uncles, Carthyl Rudkin and David McClanahan.
Sherma is survived by her parents, LeDrew and Dean Rudkin of Jonesboro; companion, Rick Hopkins of Jonesboro; sister, Susan Glasgow (Terry) of Jonesboro; brother, Steve Rudkin (Tracey) of McDonough, Georgia; aunts, Gretchen Rudkin of Pelham, Alabama and Ganell Rudkin of Gautier, Mississippi, nieces, Tracie Fletcher (Clayton) and Morgan Wilson (Jonathan) of Jonesboro; nephews, Bron Glasgow (Meriden) of Batesville, Arkansas , Chase (Courtney) and Caden Rudkin of McDonough; great-nephews, Mason Fletcher of College Station, Texas; Maddax Fletcher (Emily) of Ft. Lee, Virginia; Brecken Glasgow and Cale Glasgow of Batesville; Camdan Wilson, Merrick Fletcher, Cashtan Wilson, and Isac Compton of Jonesboro; Great-nieces, Aristyn Glasgow of Conway, Arkansas; Cate Wilson of Jonesboro; 9 cousins and their families; and a special buddy, Jagger Tubbs and his parents Heather and Jerred Tubbs, and numerous other friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, October 29 at the First Community Bank community room, 630 Southwest Drive, in Jonesboro, Arkansas with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A time of fellowship and remembrance to follow. Honorary pallbearers are her JHS graduating class of 1971.
