Shelley Davis Edwards

Shelley Davis Edwards, age 75, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026 at her home in Jonesboro surrounded by the love of her family.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Allen “Bruce” Edwards Jr.; her daughter, Whitney Edwards of Jonesboro; her son, Davis Edwards of Jonesboro; and her beloved grandson, Bryson Gann. She is also survived by her loving sister Judith Davis of Blytheville.

Born to the late Marilyn Jones Davis and Joe Peel Davis of Blytheville, she grew into a woman defined by compassion, loyalty and an unwavering sense of responsibility to those she loved. She believed in God and lived her faith through her actions. She was deeply guided by grace, empathy and a genuine concern for others.

For 45 years, she built a respected career in banking, finance and customer service. Her work ethic was unmatched, and she was known for treating every person with dignity and patience. Her greatest passion outside of her family was the Special Olympics community and Special Ministries community of Central Baptist Church. She volunteered faithfully and proudly supported her husband, who coached Special Olympic athletes for many years. Together, they joined a 2nd family among the athletes, parents and volunteers whose lives they enriched. She was the kind of person who worried more about others than herself, calling to check on friends, remembering every birthday, and offering comfort before anyone asked. Her caring spirit was steady, quiet and constant.

She will be remembered for her gentle heart, her devotion to her family, and the countless small acts of kindness that made the world around her better. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her parents and held in God’s eternal grace.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Emerson Memorial Chapel starting at 9:30 a.m. Service will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Joe Buttgen officiating the services. Graveside service will start at 1:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville. Active pallbearers will include Davis Edwards, Bryson Gann, Derek Foyt, Brian Grisham, Justin Cogburn, and Darren Lane. Honorary Pallbearers will include Brett Scott and Johnny Black.
