Sheldon Eugene Adamson Jr., 81, born on February 5, 1943, in Searcy, Arkansas, to Sheldon Adamson Sr. and Louvena Adamson, passed away peacefully in his home on May 21, 2024, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Sheldon was a man of the Baptist faith and a devoted member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Jonesboro. On December 8, 1968, he married the love of his life, Julie, with whom he shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. A gifted handyman, Sheldon could fix anything and had a passion for restoring old items. He relished a good challenge and found joy in bringing new life to the things he worked on. Sheldon also loved fishing, watching westerns, and, above all, spending quality time with his family.
Sheldon is preceded in death by his parents, Sheldon Adamson Sr. and Louvena Adamson; two brothers-in-law, Jesse Sellars and Jim Pieri.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Julie Adamson, of the home; his daughter, Deidra Terrell, and her husband, Jimmy Joe Terrell; his two brothers, Roy Adamson and his wife, Theresa, and Richard Adamson; his cherished grandson, Luke Terrell, all of Jonesboro; his brother-in-law, Jewell Sellars and wife Barbara of Brookland; and his two sisters-in-law, Melba Rush and husband Don of Jonesboro and Velma Pieri of Jonesboro. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, May 25, at 3pm at Emerson Funeral Home. There will be a visitation held prior to the service starting at 1pm until the start of the service at 3pm with Bro. Kevin Barnett officiating. Interment will follow the service at Shiloh Cemetery located off of Hwy 141. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be: Jewell Sellars, Rob Geha, Ronald Wheeless, Waylan Deen, Sam Barnett, and Floyd Inzer.
