Shelby Jean Jones

Shelby Jean Jones, 83, of Bono passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born October 5, 1939 in Bono to the late Charles and Mary Craft. Shelby was a homemaker who loved to take care of her family. She was a faithful member of the Bono Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school class for over 60 years. Shelby loved children and was a substitute teacher at area schools for several years. She enjoyed gardening and sports, and bowled on the Road Runners bowling team for several years. Most of all, Shelby loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports and their various activities and was very proud of them.

In addition to her parents, Shelby was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Jones.

Survivors include her 3 sons, Perry (Cindy) Jones of Bono, Barry (Corrie) Jones of Jonesboro, Bart (Paige) Jones of Jonesboro; daughter, Shena (Jamie) Sims of Bono; 11 grandchildren: Ty (Clara) Jones of Jonesboro, Tad (Mackenzie) Jones of Swifton, Dustin Jones of Jonesboro, Corey Jones of Jonesboro, Tanner Jones of Jonesboro, Kannon Jones of Jonesboro, Brett Jones of Jonesboro, Elizabeth Jones of Jonesboro, Shay Sims of Bono, Emilee Stricklin of Jonesboro and Gracie Stricklin of Jonesboro and 5 great grandchildren: Paisley Turner of Swifton, Birdie Jones of Jonesboro, Phoebe Jones of Swifton, Charlie Jones of Jonesboro and Mia Stricklin of Jonesboro.

Funeral service will be Monday, September 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bono Church of Christ with Bro. Richard Akins and Bro. Joseph Noto officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
