Sharron K. Butler, 66, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City. She was born on February 19, 1960, in Paragould. Sharron graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1979 and went on to work at Walmart for 32 years. She absolutely loved her job, and her coworkers became like family to her.

Sharron was very active in the Special Olympics, competing in numerous events throughout the years. Bowling was her favorite sport, and she treasured the friendships she made through her involvement in the Special Olympics.

Sharron attended of Central Baptist Church, where she was actively involved in the Special Ministries Group and the Overcomers Choir. Her church family held a special place in her heart, and she enjoyed the fellowship, friendships, and opportunities to share her love of music through the choir.

Christmas held a special place in Sharron's heart. It was her favorite time of year, and she would begin making her Christmas list as early as September. At the top of that list were often Cabbage Patch Dolls, which she loved to collect. Over the years, her collection grew to more than 300 dolls. She gave each one a name and treated them as members of her family.

Sharron had a remarkable capacity for love and friendship. When she chose you as a friend, you had a friend for life. She loved deeply and formed lasting bonds with those around her. She leaves behind countless cherished friends, including her Walmart family, her church family, and the many wonderful friends she made through the Special Olympics. Her joyful spirit, love of Christmas, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Emerson Funeral Home with Audie Cox and Joe Buttgen officiating. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m., with burial at Pine Log Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Justin Cogburn, Darrin Lane, Davis Edwards, Johnny Black, and Brian Arnold. The honorary pallbearers will be former special Olympic athletes and former Walmart coworkers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Special Olympics Arkansas Area 7.
