Sharon Ann Taylor, 71, left this life on May 14, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas.


Sharon was born on August 21st, 1948 to Claude Bryan and Martha Barnes Bryan in Memphis, Tennessee. She received her bachelor’s degree from Memphis State University and her Master’s and Doctorate in Education from Arkansas State University. Sharon began teaching at Gosnell Public Schools then moved to Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Blytheville before moving to take the role of Intermediate Principal at Valley View Public Schools in 1992. She retired from education in 2017 and spent the last years at home with her loving husband John.


Sharon was married to the love of her life, John Taylor for 49 years and had two children, John Bryan Taylor and Laura Vivian Blalock both of Jonesboro.


Sharon spent her life loving and supporting her family, friends and students whose life she impacted forever. She enjoyed reading books and was an avid Duke Basketball fan. Sharon tried to instill her love of reading into the thousands of students that she educated throughout her career. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and always looked forward to time spent with friends. Her amazing sense of humor, loving heart and infectious smile will be missed by many.


Sharon was proceeded in death by her father Claude Bryan in 1976 and her mother Martha Bryan in 2012. She is survived by her husband John Taylor of the home, her daughter Laura Blalock (Danny Lynn), her son John Bryan Taylor (April) and grandchildren, Hayden, Cooper and Ava.


In following with her wishes, all arrangements will be kept private within the family. The family ask that any memorials should be made to Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Ar.
