Sharon Churchill, 81, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed peacefully on October 29, 2023. She was
born Sharon Kay Statler on April 3, 1942, in Bakersfield, California. Known affectionately as
Sha Sha, she was a loving, caring, artistic, and creative individual.
Sha Sha is survived by her sons, Eric (Kerri) Mitchell and Marty (Marlene) Mitchell, her
daughter, Heidi (Zachary Stewart) Mitchell, and her grandchildren Carly (Matt Hill) Faye, Dustin
Mitchell, Zandra (Matt Cary) Mitchell, Keoni (Isabella Panem) and Matthew Paul, Harrison
(Brynna Jones) and Prescott Stewart, Noelani Mitchell, and Alexandria Mitchell. Sha Sha was
blessed with 3 great grandchildren, Imogene, Margot and Zinnia. She was preceded in death
by her mother, Marie Statler, her father, Carl Statler, her husband, Richard “Dick” Churchill, and
her brother, John Statler.
Heartfelt thanks go to her amazing 24-hour caregiving team, Jennifer Clemmons, Sarah
Hargrove, Lationa Brown, Tonya Campbell, and Jakiala Alexander. They were truly Sha Sha’s
guardian angels.
Sha Sha attended Meridian Primary School and later graduated from Arvin High School. She
furthered her education at Bakersfield Junior College.
In her free time, Sha Sha enjoyed painting, crafting, cooking and hosting beautiful tea parties
for her grandchildren and friends and loved her fur babies. She also loved traveling with her
husband “Dick” on cruises and adventures around the world. Her artistic talents were a true
reflection of her vibrant personality. Besides being an amazing mother to her children, Sha Sha
was often described as “My 2nd Mom” by many. She always cared for those that needed help
and often put others needs before her own.
A graveside service will be held in honor of Sharon (Sha Sha) Churchill at 1pm on November 11,
2023, at the Lawrence County Memorial Cemetery in Walnut Ridge,
Arkansas. Sha Sha’s family is hosting a family & friends gathering at the Wildflower Event
Venue located at 3410 E. Johnson, Suite M&N, Jonesboro, Arkansas, to begin at 4pm. In lieu of
flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to St. Jude Hospital or Shriners
Hospital in memory of Sha Sha.
The compassionate team at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Arkansas, is assisting the
family with the funeral arrangements.
