Shannon Dean East, 51, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Friday, December 5, 2025. He was born on October 22, 1974, in Jonesboro to William East Jr. and Leslie Fletcher.

Shannon was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church, where he lived out a strong Christian faith and joyfully shared that faith with everyone he met. He graduated from Arkansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Shannon loved fishing and was an avid Tennessee Volunteers fan—never missing a game.

He is preceded in death by his father, William East Jr.; dad, Gary Gibbs; and father-in-law, Lynn Faulk.

Shannon is survived by his loving wife, Kala East of Jonesboro; daughters, Allyson East (Garrett Turner) of Jonesboro and Katelynn East of Jonesboro; mother, Leslie Gibbs of Jonesboro; sister, Brandy Wiiest (Josh) of Brookland; mother-in-law, Porshey Faulk; sister-in-law, Courtney Meier (Brian); nieces, Bella Wiiest, Avery Meier, Dyllan Meier, and Skyler Meier; nephew, Spencer Wiiest; and best friend, Matt Parker (Megan).

Visitation will be held Monday from 12:30–2:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025. Burial will take place at Pine Log Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Holt, Keith Winningham, Adam Terrell, Brad Adamson, Bryan Shanks, and James Hafer.
