Scott Anthony Childress

Scott “Anthony” Childress, 55, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, departed this life on January 18, 2023, at his residence. He was born July 11, 1967 in Paragould.

Anthony was employed by Research Solutions, helping others recover from alcohol and drug addiction. He was multi-talented and an accomplished writer and had worked for various newspapers. Anthony also taught some college classes, and was of the Methodist belief. He loved to write, play the drums, listening to KISS, reading, and  traveling to visit historical landmarks. Anthony had a glowing personality that attracted strangers everywhere he went. He always supported his sports teams; Arkansas Razorbacks, Chicago Cubs, Arkansas State, and Washington Redskins.

He is preceded in death by his mom, Linda Barnett Fraine; paternal grandparents, John and Helen Childress; maternal grandparents, LeRoy and Wanda Barnett.

Anthony is survived by his father, Larry Childress (Marcia) of Cabot; one son, Alec Childress      (Rachel) of Jonesboro; one step-brother, Greg Lercher (Amanda) of Cabot; one step-sister, Ashley Gonyea (Wylie) of Cabot; nieces and nephews, Carter, Riley, Ellianna, Witten, and Wylie Wayne.
