Savannah Dawn Coker, 10, of Lake City, died Sunday at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. She was born in New Albany, Mississippi but had lived in Lake City most of her life. She was a 5th grade student at Riverside and was a proud Riverside Rebel. She was a member of New Providence Baptist Church.
Savannah is survived by her parents, Ernest Coker of Jonesboro & Sheila Coker of Lake City; her brothers, Christopher Haley, Monette, Zachary Haley, Lake City, Canaan Smith, Memphis; her sister, Marie Haley, Lake City; and her grandmother, Margaret Dawson, Paragould.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, James Dawson; maternal grandfather, J.R. Sims; maternal grandmother, Goldie Sims; and her aunt, Belinda Sims.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Refuge General Baptist Church in Lake City with Rev. Danny Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Monette Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be Kristian Nuckles, John Carmichael, David Harris, David Roberson, Rick Formon, and Larry Martin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Garry Rowton, Andrew Roberson, Braxton James, Michael Nelson, and Doug Stone.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Refuge General Baptist Church.
