Sarah Ferguson Heern, 82, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Monday, October 31, 2016 with her family by her side.
Sarah was born in Jonesboro on November 12, 1933 to the late James T. and Lora Hollingsworth Ferguson, and was married to the late Raymond “Chubby” Heern for 52 years. She was an active member at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, where she served on Altar Guild, Flower Guild and was involved with Christian Education and Two Saints Kitchen. She was a member of the AJ Chapter of PEO, a lifetime member of the Junior Auxiliary, and was a faithful friend of the Tally Group. She was also a longtime volunteer at the Jonesboro Church Health Center. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Heern Chaney; and a brother, Jim Ferguson, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Ken) Halford of Vicksburg, MS, Laura (Joey) Owens of Wynne, and Susan Christian (Brett McGee) of Jonesboro; sister, Loretta Ricketts of Volcano, HI; grandchildren, Mark Chaney, Sarah Kathryn Chaney, Mallory Owens, Sydney Owens, Jake Owens, Erin Rutherford, Amy Halford, and Haley Halford.
A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11am at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Hannah Hooker officiating. Interment will directly follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements. Ken Halford Jr, Joey Owens, Brett McGee, Mark Chaney, Jake Owens, Malcolm Culpepper, Hunter Hanshaw, and Pete Kemp will be serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-7pm in the Emerson Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Heern’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to caregivers Carletta Jones, Mary Golden, Tiffany Harper, and Amanda Morris for the loving care shown their mother during her time of illness.
