Sarah Agent

Sarah Strickland Agent, 79, of Jonesboro passed from this life Sunday, May 14, 2017, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. She was born March 1, 1938, in Blytheville to the late Joe Albert and Gladys Strickland.

Sarah has resided in Jonesboro since 1991, where she has attended St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was very involved within the community as a member of the Daughters of American Revolution, the Craighead County Extension Club, the Women’s Missionary Union, and also as a long-time volunteer with the NEA Baptist Auxiliary.

In addition to Sarah’s parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers: Gene Anderson Strickland, James Wayne Strickland, and Jerry Rogers Strickland.

Sarah is survived by her husband of 43 years, James Agent; two sons -- Wayne (Laurie) Agent of Youngsville, Louisiana, and Clayton Agent (Ericka Bell) of Marked Tree -- and four grandchildren: Alexander J. Agent, Madison Agent, Jaden Bell, and Emily Bell.
A visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Emerson Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Reverend Charles Sigman officiating.

Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville.
