Sara Vincent Martin

Sara Faye Vincent Martin, 82, of Harrisburg passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born in Mississippi to the late Sharp and Katie Bell Scott. Sara moved to Bay at a young age, graduated from Bay High School and Arkansas State University. She attended First Baptist Church of Bay. Sara taught elementary school at Bay and started the first Head Start Program at the school. She later worked and retired from the Department Human Services. Sara had a special caring heart for children. In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her husbands, Shelby Vincent and Michael Martin; brother, J.D. Scott; and sister, Bobbie Sue Scott.

Survivors include her son, Zach Vincent of Harrisburg; sisters, Ginny Foster of Louisville, Kentucky; Wanda Hampton (Bill) of Bay; brothers, James Horace “Bruiser” Scott, Jr.(Ellen) of Clanton, Alabama, Bart Scott of Lebanon, Tennessee, Louis Scott (Sandra) of Lettsworth, Louisiana and Lannie Scott (Patsy) of Jonesboro; and many loving nieces and nephews who have lots of special memories.

Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 15, at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Danny Taylor officiating and family members serving as pallbearers. All other services will be private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
