With heavy hearts, yet with spirits lifted by profound gratitude, we celebrate the remarkable life of Sandra E. Jones-Washington, who passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Born on October 20, 1954, to Sammie Lee Jones and Victoria Shuler-Harris, Sandra’s journey was one defined by unwavering faith, boundless compassion, and a tireless dedication to uplifting those around her.

Sandra’s early life was marked by her pursuit of knowledge. She graduated from South Miami High School before continuing her education at Miami Dade Community College. Her heart found its companion in Issac Washington, with whom she shared a loving marriage until his passing.

Throughout her life, Sandra was a beacon of support and wisdom, particularly to her siblings, to whom she offered not only protection and nurturing, but also steadfast guidance, encouragement, and a depth of understanding that was truly unique.

Her devotion knew no bounds as a mother to her three cherished sons and a doting grandmother to her twelve beloved grandchildren. She created a home filled with love, laughter, and an open-door policy for anyone in need of a listening ear or heartfelt advice.

With an open heart and an incredibly perceptive mind, Sandra offered profound wisdom, encouraging others to maintain focus, pursue their aspirations relentlessly, and never surrender their dreams. Her life was a vibrant tapestry woven with the threads of perseverance, dedication, faith, and an abiding belief in the paramount importance of family.

Sandra was a diligent professional whose career path reflected her innate desire to serve. She dedicated several years as a technician at Key Pharmaceutical and later worked in home health services, where her exceptional commitment, genuine kindness, and powerful work ethic profoundly contributed to the well-being of countless individuals within her community.

However, it was through her extraordinary mastery of cosmetology that Sandra truly forged her most enduring legacy. She transcended the conventional boundaries of her profession, transforming it into a powerful avenue for holistic healing and empowerment.

Sandra pioneered and meticulously developed products and techniques, not merely for outward adornment, but for their profound impact on self-esteem, physical health, mental well-being, and overall vitality. Her innovations were born from rigorous research, continuous education, and, most importantly, from her “Natural Gift,” a touch that family members universally recognized as divine.

Guided by her healing hands and a deeply God-fearing and faithful heart, she touched the community at large, affecting lives through her innate passion for fashion, distinctive style, and boundless creative spirit. She understood that true beauty radiated from within and dedicated herself to helping others discover and cultivate that inner radiance.

Sandra will forever be remembered for her formidable strength, boundless creativity, deeply caring spirit, and the abundant love she so generously bestowed upon everyone she encountered. She leaves behind a legacy of transformative love, impactful service, and an unwavering commitment to faith that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Issac Washington; her father, Sammie Jones; her son, Jason Harrell, and his wife, Tallulah Harrell; her sister, Cleopatria Harris; and her brothers, Sammie D. Jones and Eddie Shuler.

Though Sandra is no longer physically with us, her beautiful memory lives on in the hearts of her two sons, Olubumni Anthony George and Kevin Washington (wife, Latrice Washington); her cherished grandchildren, Xavier, Ja’Leil, Alicia, Jada, Jason, Brian, Ezekiel, Jae’Jae, Janai, Jai, Ayana, and Leila; and her adored great-grandchildren, Rylan, Giovanni, Princeton, and Eliza.

She is also survived by her loving mother, Victoria Shuler-Harris; her siblings, Irene Jones, Felix Johnson, Charles Johnson (wife, Hisumi Johnson), Raymond Johnson, Angela Harris, Fatima Harris, Wilbert Lee, and Charlene Lee; a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and her special loved one, Donald Head, who will continue to cherish her memory.

Rest peacefully, dear Sandra. Your love, your strength, your profound faith, and your beautiful spirit will remain an eternal presence within us all.

Remembering the day that the Lord graced me with a loving female child named Sandra. Young was I and lacked wisdom, but I soon realized the responsibility of being a mother to her child—a special gift.

“So I Surrender.”

Each day’s journey was new and adventurous, and each day I realized that I needed direction from the Lord.

“So I Surrender.”

Now, as I weep, I reflect on the better times and the worse, the happier times and the sad. I am reminded of the grace my Heavenly Father shared with our family for seventy-two years.

“So I Surrender.”

Sandra was a good daughter whom I will miss. She was amazing, independent, and accomplished many high achievements and goals. But the one goal I, as a mother, prayed and hoped for was salvation.

“So I Surrender.”

Thank you, Jesus, that Sandra no longer lives in torment, pain, or shame. She is now returned to the Father for eternity.

Miami, Florida Services

Family viewing will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., followed by public viewing from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., at The Miami Garden and Grace Funeral Home, 770 N.W. 119th Street, Miami, Florida 33168.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at The Miami Garden and Grace Funeral Home.

A line-up will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, September 12, 2026, with the time to be announced.

Interment will follow at Vista Memorial Gardens, 14200 N.W. 57th Avenue, Miami Lakes, Florida 33014.

Following the interment, the family will receive friends at The Sunkist Grove Community Center, 12500 N.W. 13th Avenue, North Miami, Florida 33167, for the repast.
