Sandra "Sandy" Faye Brooks

February 13, 1948 — February 7, 2021

Sandra “Sandy” Brooks, 72, of Bono formerly of Alexis, Illinois passed from this life Sunday, February 7, 2021 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born February 13, 1948 in Monmouth, Illinois to the late Steve and Jean Miller. Sandy was a retired school teacher from Huntley High school in Illinois. She was a member of Norwood Presbyterian Church while living in Alexis most of her life. After Sandy moved to Bono in 2013, she became a member at Central Baptist Church. Sandy was very active in her life group at Central Baptist Church. She was a substitute teacher for the local area schools, but primarily Brookland Schools.

She enjoyed traveling, gardening and swimming in her pool. Most of all though Sandy loved her family, especially her grandchildren and her dog Luke.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her brother, Dave Miller.

Survivors include her daughters, Kerry Roemer of Bono; Lauren Phillips of Houston, Texas; son, John Brooks of Houston, Texas; sister, Diane Hageman of Janesville, Wisconsin and 3 grandchildren: Anna Mae Roemer, Betsy Roemer and Clay Roemer all of Bono.

Memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 11:00 am at Central Baptist Church with Bro. Don Blackmore officiating.
