Samuel Buford Mitchell Jr.

Samuel Buford Mitchell Jr., 61 of Greenfield, died Thursday November 11, 2010 at his home.

He was born in Herget, Arkansas and had lived in the Greenfield community for 19 years moving there from Nettleton. He was a fence Installer for Dacus Fence Co., and was a U.S. Marine Vietnam Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his father Samuel Buford Mitchell Sr., 2 brothers; Ricky Don and Steven Lee Mitchell. 1 daughter; Michelle Charmine Mitchell and one grandson; Jeffery Allen Mitchell.
Survived by his loving wife Janice Mitchell of the home.

2 sons; Thomas S. Mitchell of Houston, Texas and James D. Woods of Harrisburg.

2 daughters; Stacy Deal of Marianna, Arkansas and Christy Mitchell Sharp of Brookland.
Mother; Estella Metcalf of Jonesboro.

6 brothers; Buddy Earl Mitchell and Tommy Joe Mitchell both of Evening Shade, Timmy Joe Mitchell of Northport, Florida, Jimmy Mitchell of Mt. Home, Roger Dale Mitchell and Ricky Lee Metcalf both of Jonesboro.

5 sisters; Kathy Barber, Nett Bobbitt and Janie Mitchell all of Jonesboro. Joy Faye Stevens of Altus, Oklahoma, Carolyn Johnson of Bay.

9 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday November 15, at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with Pastor John Medlock and Rev. Bob Heath officiating. Burial will be at Wilson Cemetery near Harrisburg.

Active pallbearers will be Lonzo Rosenbaum, Mike Bobbitt, Lance, Shane, Chris Mitchell, Mitchell Barber and Justin Barber.

Honorary pallbearers will be Benson Anderson, Paul Brooks, Michael Joe Milsap, Donnie Milsap, Allen Pennington and Pat Taylor.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 P.M. Sunday November 14, at Emerson Funeral Home.
