Samuel Joseph "Sammy" Pinkston, 17, of rural Jonesboro, died Saturday evening from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident near Jonesboro.
Sammy was a native and life-long resident of Jonesboro. He was a senior at Valley View High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society and the Art Club. Sammy was also a member of Southwest Church of Christ where he was active in the church youth activities. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Carrie Langston, and an aunt, Angie Pinkston.
Survivors include his parents: Gregg and Beth Langston Pinkston of the home;
2 brothers: Seth (Abbey) Pinkston of Jonesboro, and Noah Pinkston of the home;
Maternal grandfather: Doyne (Sue) Langston of Melbourne;
Paternal grandparents: Perry and Sherry Pinkston of Jonesboro; and
Paternal great grandfather, Willard Lloyd of Tuckerman.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jimmy Adcox officiating and Nan Deal delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Gibson Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Chris Jarchow, Anthony Coy, Charles Domino, Kenny Dunigan, Tony Harris and Brad Wilcox. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Combs, Harold Limbert and members of the Valley View High School Class of 2015.
Visitation will be Monday evening, 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
