Sammy Barkley

Sammy Barkley, 65 of Jonesboro, died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Sammy was retired from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission as a Fishery Biologist and was an avid outdoorsman. He graduated with a BS degree in Biology. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Barkley and Larry Barkley, a brother.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Sandra Barkley, of the home; son, Samuel Brian Barkley and wife Dianne of Cherokee, North Carolina; grandchildren, Camille Barkley and Slade Barkley; mother, Mary Alice Barkley of Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, January 14, 2013 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 4-6 on Sunday afternoon at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
