Él nació el día 9 de mayo del 1947 en Ibérica, municipio de Nuevo Urecho, Estado de Michoacán.

Él fue hijo de Juan Tovar (finado) y Estela Barajas (finada). Salvador era el mayor de cinco hermanos, de los cuales sobreviven dos: Marcial Tovar y María del Carmen Tovar.

Con profundo pesar informamos su fallecieminto el 7 de junio del 2025, a las 7:51 a.m., a la edad de 78 años. Él vivió por 24 años en Jonesboro, Arkansas, donde fue plenamente feliz, rodeado de su familia.


Le sobreviven su esposa, Juana Martinez Rivera; sus cuatro hijos: Juan Ramon, Salvador, Carlos Alberto y Rodolfo Tovar; sus hermanos, nueras, doce nietos y tres bisnietos, así como su gran familia del restaurante 501.

Salvador tuvo un gran amor desde joven por el deporte; disfrutando de ir al gimnasio y hacer ejercicio en casa. A él le encantaba cuidar sus plantas y su huerto personal, del cual él y su familia podían disfrutar de las verduras de su cosecha. Algo característico de él era su dedicación al trabajo y una fuerte ética laboral. También se le recuerda por su fe católica, especialmente su profundo amor hacia Jesús Sacramentado, el Santo Niño de Atocha, y el Santísimo Rosario de la Virgen María.

He was born on May 9, 1947, in Ibérica, in the municipality of Nuevo Urecho, in the state of Michoacán.


He was the son of Juan Tovar (deceased) and Estela Barajas (deceased). Salvador was the eldest of five siblings, two of whom survive him: Marcial Tovar and María Carmen Tovar.


It is with immense sorrow that we announce his passing on June 7th, 2025, at 7:51 a.m., at the age of 78. He lived in Jonesboro, Arkansas, for 24 years, where he enjoyed a happy life surrounded by his family.


He is survived by his wife, Juana Martinez Rivera; his four sons: Juan Ramon, Salvador, Carlos Alberto, and Rodolfo Tovar; his siblings, daughters-in-law, twelve grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, as well as his beloved family at 501.


Salvador had a great love for exercising from his youth; he enjoyed going to the gym and working out at home. He took great pride in caring for his plants and personal vegetable garden, from which he and his family enjoyed the fresh fruits of his labor. A defining aspect of his personality was his dedication to his work and a strong work ethic. He is also remembered for his Catholic faith, especially his deep devotion to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, the Divine Child of Atocha, and the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
