Ruth Elizabeth Walker

Ruth E. Walker, 95, of Jonesboro died Tuesday at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.

Ruth was born on December 30, 1915 to the late Archie and Annie Collie in Forrest City. She married the late Henry Walker on November 4, 1936. They lived in Rockford, IL until she moved back to Jonesboro after his passing in 1972. She was a very active member at the Nettleton Baptist Church, where she taught for many years, and one of the biggest joys in her life was her children and all her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her; two brothers, Gurvis and Lee Collie; a sister, Annie Miller; a son in law, Bob Crisp; and a grandson, John Quinn Jr.

Survivors include her daughters, Donnie Crisp and Martha L. Quinn and her husband John all of Jonesboro; two sisters, Hettie Hayslip of Olive Branch, MS, and Olive Nold of Florida; four grandchildren, Cameo Watkins, Marsha Trusty, Sharon Dudley, Deborah Hassen; eleven great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Stan Ballard and Bro. Harold Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Friday from 10am until service time in the Emerson Memorial Chapel.

In Lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House at 400 East Street, Jonesboro, AR 72401, or Nettleton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2415 Jonesboro, AR 72402, in memory of Ruth E. Walker.
