She was born in Mount Pleasant, AR, to Loran Craig and May (Campbell) Craig. She attended Mount Pleasant High School and Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway. After marriage, Ruth and husband John moved to Pampa, TX, and started their family. They moved back to Cave City, AR, in 1970, where Ruth worked in banking. She moved to Jonesboro in 1985 and continued her career in banking. She was an unwavering member of First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro, serving as treasurer for many years and always doing for others. She is survived by her son Allen (Judy) Pierce, Grandson Russ (Meridith) Pierce, Granddaughter Rachel (Wright) Porter, all of Jonesboro, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the professionals at St. Bernards, Hospice House, and Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City for caring for their beloved mother and Gran. A special thank you to Dr. Samuel Stringfellow for making us feel like family.
