Ruth Jane Dewitt Stewart

February 4, 1946 — January 14, 2013

Ruth Jane DeWitt Stewart, 66, of Jonesboro, died Monday, January 14, 2013, at her home of natural causes.

Born in Lake City to William C. and Hettie Mae Mantle DeWitt, Jane lived most of her in the Lake City-Jonesboro area. Jane worked most of her life in retail sales and was raised in the First Assembly of God in Jonesboro.

Jane was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed cooking for her family, and collected antiques. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Haney, by a son, Christopher Harold Polsgrove, and by 3 brothers: Bob DeWitt, Henry (Hank) DeWitt and Paul Eugene DeWitt.

Survivors include:
2 sons: Randy Kafka (Candie) of Elkhart, Indiana, and Phil Stewart (Renah) of Jonesboro;

1 brother, W.C. DeWitt of Fort Worth;
1 sister, Mary Lou Thomas of Jonesboro;
4 grandchildren: Nicholas Kafka, Brandon Kafka, Philip Stewart and Morgan Cook;

2 nephews: Mark DeWitt and Craig DeWitt, both of Fort Worth, and

Several other nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 in Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00-1:30 in Emerson Chapel.
