Ruby Levern Jolley

June 16, 1926 — July 11, 2011

Ruby (Joe) Levern Capwell Jolley, a resident of Bono, Arkansas, formerly of Blytheville, AR, died Monday, July 11 in Jonesboro, AR after a long illness.

Ruby was an accomplished artist, writer and gardener, on multiple occasions receiving the “Yard of the Month” award in Blytheville, where she lived for many years.

She was known to family and friends as “Farmlady”, and her love for nature and beauty defined her life.

Born June 16, 1926 in VanFleet, Chickasaw County, Mississippi, she was the youngest of three daughters. She is preceded in death by her mother, Dollie Estelle Riddle Capwell; her sister, Alice Vaynor Capwell and her grandson, Samuel E. Thayer, Jr.

She is survived by one sister, Mattie Estelle Capwell Stark of Gosnell, AR; a son, Joe M. Jolley of Bono, AR; daughter, Karen Levern Jolley Thayer of Memphis, TN; son, CB Jolley also of Memphis; and grandson, Christopher B. Jolley of Nashville, TN.

Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the Cancer Research Institute or a charity of their choice.

Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro has been entrusted with arrangements. Services will be private.
