Roy Donald Rush

Roy Donald Rush, 72, of Jonesboro passed from this life Monday, November 18, 2019 at Arkansas Continued Care Hospital. He was born to the late Lee and Geneva Rush in Evening Shade on March 17, 1947.
He resided in Jonesboro since 1967 after coming from Bay. He graduated from Bay High School in 1966. Roy was a long time member of Highland Drive Baptist Church.
Roy was a member of the first Basketball team at Bay to win a State Championship. He loved watching his kids and grandkids play sports and their school activities. He enjoyed spending time in the woods and also cutting wood. He started and owned his own lawn service for 20 years. Most of all, Roy loved people and enjoyed kids.
In addition to his parents, Roy Is preceded in death by his four brothers, one sister, and one grandson, Coty Scott Rush.
Roy is survived by his wife, Cleo of 31 years, of the home; son, Scott(Stacey) Rush of Bay; daughter, Melissa(Jeff) Moskop of Sedgwick; step daughter, Shelly(Brant) Tomlinson of Cabot; two brothers, Glen Rush of Jonesboro and Don(Melba) Rush of Brooklyn; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be at 10 am Friday, November 22, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home with Dr. Johnny Hutchison officiating. Honorary pallbearers will include: Noel Duncan, Jerry Tubbs, Earl Wilson, Bobby Davis, Greg Taylor, and Larry Adams.
