Roy Hearold Rhea, 85, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, January 22, 2022, at his home. He was born May 7, 1936, in Greene County, Arkansas, to Jim Hawkins Rhea and Lula Mae Bobo Rhea.
Roy retired from the Army National Guard after 30 years of service and Hytrol Conveyor Company after 26 years. He was a member of Prospect Missionary Baptist Church and was a Mason.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers: infant brother Jeff Rhea, Doc Rhea, Donald Rhea, Earnest Rhea, and James Rhea; and 2 sisters: Gladys Duffel and Alma Harris.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Linda, of the home; daughter Connie Rogers and son Robin Rhea, both of Jonesboro;
3 grandchildren: Callie Gibson, Casey Gibson and Adrianna Rogers;
1 great granddaughter, Lindi Beth Partee;
1 sister, Imogene Rudd (Norman) and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Mike Book officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 10:00-11:00 in the Chapel.
Active pallbearers include: Casey Gibson, Brian Fielder, Anthony Fielder, Lawrence Fielder, Tom Fielder, Tyler Fielder and Keith Fielder. Honorary pallbearers include Roger Rhea, Barry Rudd, Lynn Beasley, Kavin Davis, Jack Story, Alvin McNatt, Jack Ward, Charlie Lingenfelter, Max Clubb, Carl Coleman and members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, 1603 Hwy. 351-N, Jonesboro, AR 72401, Rutherford Cemetery Assn, 864 Plum Hill Dr., Jonesboro, AR 72401, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
