Roy Lee Hinton, 83, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday October 14, 2009 at St. Bernards.
He was born in Metropolis, Illinois and lived in Jonesboro since 1954, moving here from Caraway, Arkansas. He was a retired farmer and owner and operator of the Craighead County Livestock Auction Company in Jonesboro. He was of the Church of Christ belief.
He was preceded in death by his wife Inez Hinton in 2006, his parents Aaron Frances Hinton and Pearl Sis Fairfield and two brothers.
Survived by two sons; Donald Hinton and Bobby Hinton both of Jonesboro.
Four daughters, LaWanda Prince of Victoria, Texas, Linda Hill, Cynthia Ann Gay and Renee Hathcoat all of Jonesboro. One brother C.W. Hinton of West Memphis, Arkansas and one sister Claudean Toombs of Caraway, Arkansas.
Fourteen grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday October 17, 2009 at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with Gary Hill officiating. Burial will be in Pine Log Cemetery, with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge.
Active pallbearers will be, James Prince II, N.J. Prince (now serving in IRAQ), Christopher Hathcoat (now serving in IRAQ), Aaron Hinton, Collin Hinton, Jason Gay, Nicholas Pier, Stephen Unger, Daniel Smith and Clayton Thompson.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday October 16, 2009 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
