Roy Gentry Tipton

Roy Tipton, 50, of Caraway, died Monday at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Roy lived all of his life in Caraway and was a member of Rowe’s Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoyed shop work and writing and singing country and gospel music. Roy was preceded in death by his father, W.C. Tipton, and a great grandson, Gracein James.

Survivors include his wife, Joe Tipton;

2 sons: John James (Kimberly) and Bo James (Diane), a daughter, Lisa Jones;
His mother, Wilma Louise George (Richard), 1 brother, Garland Tipton (Sue), 1 sister, Melissa Nelson (Lee), 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 in Rowe’s Chapel Baptist Church with Glen Holston officiating with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow in Caraway Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Jeff Presley, Greg Stull, Billy Pendergrass, Roger Williams, Roger Adcock and Brian Crews.

Visitation will Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that consideration be given to family assistance at Heritage Bank in Caraway.
