Roy Lester Coble

Roy Lester Coble, 89, of Jonesboro passed from this life Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at his home. He was born August 20, 1931 in Alamo, TN to the late Luther and Callie Wyatt Coble.

Roy has lived in Jonesboro all of his life and was a member of Forrest Home Church of the Nazarene. Roy was a longtime Jonesboro businessman and was the Jonesboro City Collector for 21 years. He was a Gideon and was also the former President of the Board of Directors for the Helping Neighbors Food Pantry. Roy was a member of the NEA SRA Car Club as well as the Crowley’s Ridge Cruisers.

In addition to his parents, Roy is preceded in death by a grandson, DJ Coble and a brother, Robert H. Coble.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Joy Coble of the home; sons, Roy Lee Coble (Peggy Walker), Darrell (Holly) Coble Sr., and step-son Scott (Jennifer) Crisp; brother, Earl (Jeanne) Coble; sisters, Glenda Neff and Eula Mae Davis; grandchildren, Ryan (Laura) Coble, Sean (Meranda) Coble, Aaron Coble, Tyler (Valerie) Coble, Addam (Arianne) Coble, Ashley (Michael) Richbourg, Zach (Brittany) Crisp, Autumn (Chris) Fikes, Olivia Crisp and Tyler Crisp; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews including Deborah Coble who was a tremendous help and blessing over the past several months.

Visitation will be held Wednesday February 24, 2021 from 1-2 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.

Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2 pm with Rev. Ken Stallings and Bro. Stan Ballard officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Ryan Coble, Aaron Coble, Tyler Coble, Tyler Crisp, Sean Coble, Addam Coble, Zach Crisp and Michael Richbourg.
