Rosie Lee Parks, 87, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Friday, October 2, 2020. She was born to the late Henry "Beecher" Bowling and Alma Smith Bowling on December 12, 1932 in Coffman, Missouri. Rosie learned how to sew from her mother and made or altered most of her clothing. She also grew up learning how to hunt and trap with her father and later in life shared that passion with her husband, Roy Parks. They enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going on long drives down gravel roads just to see where they would end up. Rosie was also known for her green thumb and as being an excellent cook. In addition to her parents, Rosie is preceded in death by her sister, Patsy Sales.
Rosie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roy Parks of Jonesboro; sons, Ken Nations (Jessica) of Jonesboro and Alan Nations (Jeffrey Jenkins) of San Diego; sister, Edith Miller of Farmington, Missouri; grandchildren, Christopher Nations, Brittany Tillman (Christian), Dalton Nations, and Emily Nations; and great granddaughter, Adeline Rose Tillman.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Emerson Funeral Home.
