Rose Mary Stallings

Rose Mary Stallings, 90, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Born in Swifton, Rose Mary lived most of her life in Jonesboro. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of Forest Home Church of the Nazarene. Rose Mary taught cake decorating and was well known for her hot tamales which she turned into an annual hot tamale get-together for her extended family. She also enjoyed drawing but her biggest joy was hosting and fixing for her family.

Rose Mary was preceded in death by her parents: Clifford and Clisty Wilcox May; husband of 67 years, Harvey Stallings; daughter, Sandra Rook; sister, Lucille Cook; and great grandson, Will Stallings.

Survivors include 1 daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Larry Higgins of Marianna;
2 sons and daughters-in-law: Ronnie and Debra Stallings, and Tim and Tammy Stallings, all of Jonesboro;
1 brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Carolyn May of Bay;
a son-in-law, Rick Rook of Jonesboro;
2 daughters of the heart, Marcia Graham of Marianna and Geri Farmer of Jonesboro;
7 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 15 great grandsons and 4 great granddaughters.

The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to the ladies and gentlemen of the St. Bernards Total Life Program and the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. The caring kindness is deeply appreciated.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Forest Home Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Ken Stallings and Rev. Joe May officiating with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will precede the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. until service time.

Grandsons Kevin Rook, Matt Stallings, Jason Rook, Justin Higgins, Jeffrey Higgins, Jonathan Higgins and Connor Stallings will serve as pallbearers.
