Rose Marie Kinman Miller, 78, of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015, at NEA Baptist Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Rose was born in Jonesboro and grew up in Trumann. She was a 1954 graduate of Trumann High School and a graduate of Arkansas State College where she served as president of her sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi.
Rose taught first grade for 29 years, beginning in West Memphis, then Jonesboro, but teaching most of her career in Valley View Elementary School. Rose was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church where she was active in the Pat Dickson Circle of United Methodist Women. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, life member of AOPi Sorority, and was an avid bridge player. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Nettie Marie Kemp Kinman.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Bob Miller of the home, married June 14, 1959;
1 son, Matt Miller of Harrison;
1 daughter, Rayanna Moore (Gordon) of Hot Springs;
1 sister, Dot Kinman of House Springs, Missouri;
3 grandchildren: Megan Miller Farley (Jimmy), Blake Moore, and Aaron Moore (Jessica) all of Jonesboro; and
2 great grandchildren: Easton James Farley and Lillian Rose Moore.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 30, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chris Hemund officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time in Emerson Chapel.
