Rosa Ascurra (101) of Port Richey, Florida passed into eternal life at her home on July 19, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Rosa was born in Sayan, Lima, Peru and was formerly of Jonesboro Arkansas. She was the mother of 7 children, Rosa Quinn (Neal) of Long Island, NY, Enrique Lopez (Abigail) of Lima, Peru, Sara Mendoza (Victor) of Tampa, FL, the late Rodolfo Lopez (Rosa) of Newark, NJ, Connie Beaumont McBride (Michael) of Fairfield Bay, AR, Oscar Ascurra Jr. of Port Richey, FL, and Rocio Hennessy (Thomas) of Long Island, NY.

She was the matriarch of a very large and extended family. Mamita loved all of her grandchildren which included 21 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her caring demeanor, unwavering love and motherly kindness to all she knew.

Rosa loved life and loved celebrating with her friends and family. During her 100th birthday celebration, she drank wine, danced with her son, danced with all her grandsons present, and also danced with her youngest great grandson.

There will be a memorial mass in her honor at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023,  at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, Jonesboro, AR. Following the memorial mass, her cremains will be laid to rest with her husband, Oscar Ascurra, in the family plot at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR.
